Item Description

Galena specimens from this iron mine are a German classic. Super sharp, lustrous, metallic-gray crystals are very aesthetically set on the matrix covered with sparkly drusy quartz. The modified cuboctahedrons are twinned and untwinned and the dramatic large twin is 1.9 cm long. The front and back (many more on the back) host tiny gemmy rubyjack sphalerite crystals. Specimens of this old-time outstanding quality are seldom on the market from this historic mine, that closed in 1962. Ex Zecha and Seelbach and Paul Jung Collections.
