Item Description

Silver specimens from the famous mines at Batopilas are a Mexican classic and this an extremely fine and aesthetic small cabinet with a fine background. The piece have both dramatic elongated spinel-twins and desirable herringbone clusters of spinel twins with a nice variable patina. This sculptural piece has a super provenance, having been the collection of F. John Barlow, who assembled a world-class private collection before passing away in 2004. It is illustrated in John's outstanding 1996 self-published coffee table (large format) book on his collection on page 223. Fairly valued at $2500 for provenance and quality. Exceptional!
