Item Description

Villiaumite is a rare Na-fluoride and is a member of the Halite Group. It is found in small miarolytic cavities in nepheline syenite. The finest examples of the species come from the two phonolite (nepheline syenite extrusive) road metal quarries in Namibia and from the famed Kola Peninsula of Russia. This is a HUGE for the locale blocky cleavage of gorgeous, gemmy to translucent, rich cherry-red villaumite. VERY rare in this size and quality from this locale. Ex Charlie Key Collection (2008).
