Item Description

Rockbridgeite is a rare anhydrous Fe-phosphate named in 1949 after the Type Locality. Mineral specimens are very uncommon and interestingly, rockbridgeite specimens are EXTREMELY RARE from this extinct small open pit iron mine started in the 1890s (MINDAT). This is a dense radiating spray of moderately lustrous brown lathes. These are HUGE crystals for the species. RARE and desirable old-time material for the Virginia or species collector. From an East Coast collection.
