Item Description

A colorful and sculptural combination from the well-known extinct copper mine, active from 1961-68 (MINDAT). Scintillating iridescent marcasite microcrystals encase three pristine intergrown barite stalactites. The broken base reveals the hollow tubes, where precipitating barite fluids flowed. Collectors are now recovering fine gypsum, barite and marcasite specimens here. Certainly a fascinating, excellent and unusual combination!
