Item Description

Recently, a small group of miners risked losing their jobs at the Porco mine, and "liberated" some specimens from being sent to the smelter in an attempt to make some extra for their families. I was fortunate enough to obtain a few of these pieces, and they are by far some of the finest contemporary wire Silver specimens that I've seen from this mine in a long time. Typically the Silver specimens from Bolivia are somewhat "flat" and boring, but this piece is aesthetic for a Bolivian Silver. It features a beautiful group of wires free of matrix. This is a good overall display specimen from a classic Bolivian locality. The mine at Porco is THE oldest and most significant Silver mine in Bolivia. Valued at $500 in the inventory. Enjoy.
