Item Description

An impressive 3.8 cm textbook anglesite crystal dominates this excellent classic from the famous Monteponi Mine, source of the world's finest phosgenite specimens. The sharply terminated, striated, glassy, transparent to translucent, colorless tabular crystal has adamantine satin luster faces and is very aesthetically set upright in the 5.3 cm vug surrounded by smaller anglesites, to 1.8 cm. The hefty sculptural matrix is granular galena "mother" rock. This mine has produced outstanding anglesites and this is a classic and very fine example. Ex Dr. Eugene Sensel Collection, a well-known East Coast collector who passed away in 2000. Valued at $1000-1500.
