Item Description

A very colorful, rich and sculptural two-sided combination rib from the famous Pachapaqui District. The underlying matrix of spherical aggregates brilliant lustre, brassy pyritohedrons is dramatically overgrown with dense clusters of intergrown, flattened, frosted pretty pink rhodochrosite rhombs. The small hole near the center adds pizzazz. In outstanding shape, overall. The interiors are pristine on both sides. Part of one edge is an attachment, as is the base. Ex W.S. Logan Collection # X 40-6 and illustrated on Page 58 of his 2013 self-published book, Rhodochrosite - Crystals of Drama and Nuance (available by request). Classic, excellent and rich two-sided combination material from this locale. Valued at $400 by the former dealer.
