Item Description

Brucite specimens are RARE from this old asbestos deposit, first worked in the late 1800s. Beautiful, rich sky-blue pearlescent, translucent crystals cover the miniature matrix on this exceptional and colorful example from the locale. The locality is better known for fine Garnet Group specimens. Brucite is fairly uncommon worldwide and sharp crystals even more so - usually it forms jumbly crusts. As a whole, this is an imposing piece for the striking blue color, transparency and form of so many good crystals richly aggregated on a bit of matrix.
