Item Description

A dramatic, beautifully prepared and RARE combination amethyst specimen from the Goboboseb Mts and the Shields Flynn Namibia Collection. A fantastic 7.3 cm, sharply terminated, water-clear to translucent quartz crystal hosts a stunning sharp purple phantom accented with smoky color. The sculptural vug is lined with RARE for the locale glassy, sharp K Feldspar variety Adularia crystals and scattered quartz points. MINDAT lists 'Alkali Feldspar', but there are no examples in the Photo Gallery. The amethyst crystal is essentially pristine, with only trivial wilbers to the termination. The basalt matrix has been expertly sawed and prepared to form a superlative and RARE display quality combination specimen. Matrix specimens of this quality are rare from the Goboboseb. Fairly valued at $2500-3000.
