Highly lustrous, silvery powder-blue kyanite blades are intergrown jackstraw style on this sculptural and rich old-timer from this less well-known Connecticut locale. This 360-degree piece is essentially solid kyanite, with just a bit of attached quartz. The piece has a fine provenance, having been in the collection or dealer stock of Peter Zodac, 1894-1967, founder of Rocks & Minerals magazine in 1926. Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named. Seldom on the market today.
