Item Description

Tapiolites are uncommon Fe and Mn Ta-Nb oxides found in pegmatites. This obscure pegmatite in Paraiba State has recently produced some outstanding specimens of Tapiolite-(Fe) and this is a very fine example. A 1.4 cm, sharp, metallic lustre, tetragonal crystal with eyecatching light iridescence is aesthetically set in the mounded matrix of quartz and muscovite.
