Item Description

RARE, rich and very showy New Mexico fluorite from an obscure locality in the less well-known Gila Fluorspar District of Grant County. A striking 2.3 x 2.3 x 1.7 cm octahedron dominates the massive very pretty green translucent fluorite plate. Covered with smaller octos, all of these crystals have dramatic, dense stepped-growth faces covered with a secondary overgrowth of lighter fluorite. The large octo looks like a Mayan stepped pyramid! Rich purple fluroescence. VERY rare and outstanding fluorite from this locality. A MUST for the species or locality collector.
