Item Description

Striking splendent metallic clusters of jet-black sphalerite crystals are richly scattered on this impressive, large 3-dimensional specimen covered with starkly contrasting glassy quartz points from this famous old Alston Moor lead-zinc-fluorite mine. The yellow iron oxide-included quartz crystals add eye-catching color. Ex Dr. Stephen Moreton Collection and illustrated in the locality Photo Gallery with a April 9, 2008 photo by him. It was collected in 2003. Combination specimens of this size and quality are rare from here.
