Item Description

A gorgeous polished vein of glorious, lustrous, translucent, rich apple-green chrysoprase is sandwiched in sculptural matrix. Chrysoprase is the apple-green variety of chalcedony. The color is caused by tiny inclusions of Nickel-bearing layered silicates. This very colorful, showy and polished piece is from a NEW FIND at this historic old nickel deposit, mined since the Middle Ages and finally abandoned in 1980 (MINDAT). High quality material from a new find.
