Item Description

A beautifully sculptural and rare "lacework" of crystallized copper from this famous Copper Country mine. Delicate looking, but sturdy, the artistic piece is composed of intergrown spinel-twins with some tetrahexahedral crystals. It has a nice matte patina, that is accented by dabs of green malachite. A RARE and fine accessory is the 3 mm glassy, gem calcite rhomb. The Caledonia Mine has been intermittently active since 1863 and recently for specimen mining efforts. This outstanding copper with rare calcite probably dates to the 1990s collecting efforts.
