Item Description

Classic, rich and very showy two-sided combination material from this well-known Cumbria iron mine, that operated from 1903 to 1973. Absolutely scintillating specular hematite covers one side of the sculptural massive hematite and botryoidal kidney ore matrix. A rich sprinkling of very uncommon tiny glassy calcite rhombs is a super accessory. Glassy, transparent dipyramidal (beta style) quartz crystals cover the back side. An excellent and aesthetic two-sided combination from the Ted Bartels Collection.
