Item Description

Rare old Gudmundite from this old Antimony mining area started in 1790 and intermittently worked until 1922 (MINDAT). Gudmundite is a rare Fe-Sb sulfosalt, a Member of the Arsenopyrite Group. Tiny lustrous, metallic prisms richly cover all sides of the rich and hefty ore specimen. The crystals are beautiful under high magnification. Rare old material previously in the famous Narodni Museum in Prague. Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named. Comes with a label from respected rarities dealer Josef Vajdak (Pequa Minerals). Mass is 524 grams.
