Item Description

Tightly coiled, well ribbed, pyritized ammonites are richly festooned on the large shale matrix plate on this showy two-sided specimen from this famous English locale, well-known for such ammonites. The species is Lower Jurassic (195 MYA) Eoderoceras obsum. Classic, rich and excellent large matrix material from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection.
