Item Description

A sculptural, aesthetic and uncommon small cabinet combination from this famous Chinese locale. Beautiful light cherry-red, lustrous and tranlsucent blocky rhodochrosite rhombs and flattened disk-like rhombs are dramatically scattered on the feldspar matrix. The striking, upright, partially drusy quartz-covered disk is 2.0 cm tall. Scattered bruising and cleaving is noted to the rhodos, including the cleaved tip to the upright disk, but are certainly only modest detractions. Sections of sea-green and purple fluorite are uncommon and excellent accessories. Purple fluorite fluorescence. Ex W.S. Logan Collection # 32-1. An impressive, rich, uncommon and highly representative 2-sided example of the combination and locale.
