Item Description

A classic, large, tabular, hexagonal, poker chip calcite crystal from Charcas, renowned for calcites of this style. Interestingly, the shapely translucent crystal is zoned from front to back. The porcelaneous front is chalky white. The zoned layers grade to very glassy gray on the back. Pristine, except for a trivial bit of scuffing on the front left edge. Specimens of any type directly attributable to the San Sebastian Mine are not that common. Neon-pink fluorescence!
