Item Description

Adorable ivory-colored reticulated cerussite crystal clusters with pretty light green tinting are aesthetically scattered on rolling matrix covered with desirable tiny, sparkly, translucent rich green cuprian smithsonite rhombs. The artistic large isolated snowflake is 1.7 cm across. Classic and excellent old-time combination material from the Upper Oxidized Zone from the Shields Flynn Collection with a fine provenance. Comes with a copy of a Smithsonian Museum label with a low R (Washington Roebling) number of 6061. Specimens numbered R1 through R6000 were owned by Roebling, whereas higher numbered specimens were purchased later by the Smithsonian with money from the Roebling endowment. This dates the piece to the late 1920s or early 1930s. Read his biography at: https://mineralogicalrecord.com/labels.asp?colid=614.
