Item Description

Sparkly, translucent, flesh-colored, clusters of elongated orthorhombic olmiite crystals cover the sculptural curved matrix plate on this impressive large specimen from the Fall, 2008 find at the famous N'Chwaning II Mine of South Africa. The 2.5 cm knob is noteworthy and adds artistic flair to this rich piece. Pristine, except for one mostly out-of-sight bruise, which has minimal impact to the overall richness and quality of this large piece. These were expensive, when they first came out. This was from early finds from here, originally mislabelled as Poldervaartite. Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named.
