Wavellite (NEW FIND - rare)

Item Description

Stunning, fantastically colorful, shimmering chatoyant radial starbursts of acicular yellow, green, blue-green and white wavellite crystals are strikingly set in the sculptural shale matrix. The large starburst is 1.8 cm across. The oxided starbursts along one edge add real color contrast. This excellent small cabinet is from a NEW 2018 find at this obscure Irish locale in County Kerry. The next land to the West from the locality photo is Newfoundland! This is the second and last of the only two specimens we obtained from this find.
