Item Description

Azurite specimens are uncommon from this extinct porphyry copper deposit in Sardinia. Two parallel-growth clusters of lustrous, navy-blue azurite blades, to about 1.7cm, are aesthetically set in the narrow vug along with a bit of contrasting complementary malachite on the scuptural lightweight gossan matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 10085 and acquired at the Bad Ems Show in April,1983. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A very fine and uncommon style azurite from the locale.
