Item Description

RARE Colorado rhodochrsoite and fluorite from this very obscure extinct polymetallic precious metal mine in the San Juan Mountains of Saguache County. The sculptural large specimen hosts a dramatically placed dense cluster of sharp, moderately lustrous, pretty rich pastel-pink rhombs, to 9 mm on the diagonal. Striking, adjacent, rich green glassy fluorite is a super contrast and complement to the quartz-rich matrix. There are NO photographed specimens of any species featured in the MINDAT locality page. BRIGHT white-blue fluorite fluorescence! Ex Phillip Presson Collection and W.S. Logan Collection X59-1. An exceptional Colorado rhodo and fluorite combination rarity and a MUST for the species or Colorado collector!
