Item Description

A sculptural and uniquely different two-sided multi-generational rhodochrosite combination miniature from Mont Saint-Hilaire. Tiny, gemmy, sparkly second generation carnelian-red rhodo rhombs are peppered on the inside of the back of the crust. The front is composed of coated and uncoated flattened "trigonal" twinned crystals, that look like macle or contact twins! These are not typical rhombs from the Poudrette, Sweet Home Mine, other Colorado localities, Peru or the classic dogtooth spikes from the Kalahari! The dramatically placed cluster of glassy catapleite plates and the 2.4 cm aegirine crystal are super accessories and complements. These were collected from a single pocket in the late 1970s, with none since. Classic, singular style and excellent Poudrette rhodo combination material from the Allen Dillwith Collection.
