Item Description

Mineral specimens are very uncommon from this less well-known extinct Colorado molybdenum mine. The locality produced aquamarine crystals, but they are seldom on the market in this quality. This is a beautiful light ice-blue limpid crystal with textbook hexagonal form and a beveled termination. A very fine and rare thumbnail aqua from the Kay Robertson Collection # 9884 and probably collected in the 1970s or earlier. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A MUST for the Colorado or species collector.
