Item Description
A very fine older specimen of azurite and malachite from the famous Bou Bekker locality in Morocco. Two sharp, blocky, lustrous, rich azure blue azurites are aesthetically clustered and are dramatically accented by the isolated 1.6 cm azurite rosette on the velvety green malachite matrix plate. The largest azurite measures 2.7 cm. This specimen formerly was from an old East Coast collection, with a label from noted New York mineral dealer, Larry Conklin. Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection. this is a superb example of the style, valued $900-1200
