Item Description

This well-known pegmatite has produced some of the finest phenakites in the world and this is a very aesthetic minature of intergrown crystals. The very glassy, water-clear, tapered rhombs are dominated by the impressive 3.2 cm crystal. This beauty is probably from the major 1980s finds. The front is pristine and the contacting on back is confined to the base of the crystal. An excellent two-sided example from the Kay Robertson Collection # 13221. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). valued $750-1000. these are simply not on the market anymore!
