Item Description

Calcites of the striking style are RARE from this famous Guanajuato Mine. The aesthetic matrix piece is composed of water-clear tabular, hexagonal "poker chip" rhombs with a very unusual secondary overgrowth of frosted translucent calcite along the edges, that leaves the crystal centers limpid. The impressive large crystal is 3.6 cm. Every one of the many crystals are of the same style. Complete all-around essentially pristine, this is a fascinating rare calcite from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection. Pretty pink fluorescence.
