Item Description

A RARE and rich pseudomorph from this famous extinct Paterson traprock quarry. Quartz has replaced numerous sprays of a myriad of orthorhombic diamond-shaped glauberite crystals. The striking casts on all sides really add character to this fine rarity. Quartz pseudos after glauberite are not nealry as common as the casts after anhydrite, and are sought after by New Jersey collectors for their beautiful form. The quarry was active between 1893 and 1925. More fine specimens were recovered in the late 1980s during the construction of housing in and around the quarry. Ex Ken McKim and Dr. Barratt Phillips Collections. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
