Item Description

A 2.2 cm, pristine, doubly terminated, gemmy to translucent, two-toned rich emerald-green dioptase crystal is jauntily perched atop the sculptural matrix of tiny oxide-coated calcite rhombs dotted with small gem dioptase crystals. At nearly an inch, this is a large, excellent and isolated single crystal of the species and famed locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12486. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
