Item Description

This old open-pit Devon tungsten mine has produced some of Europe's finest scorodite specimens and this is a very rich and showy example. Two sculptural vugs in the quartz-rich matrix are fully lined with lustrous, translucent, SEA-GREEN crystals with frosted faces. The crystals are definitely photo and light sensitive! We shot this fine piece with two different cameras and lighting systems. The crystals photograph bluer in both cases. A 1.7 cm section of a ferberite crystal, the primary tungsten ore, along one edge is a nice accessory. Classic, rich and fine material valued by former dealer at $500.
