Item Description

Very gemmy and glassy, interpenetrating violet fluorite cubes, to 1.4 cm, cover the large sculptural, 3-dimensional specimen above sulfide matrix on this impresssive and very rich combination from the famous Frazer's Hush Mine. The scattered lustrous galena octahedrons have a striking secondary overgrowth of knobby small galena crystals, adding pizzazz and interest. The specimen is essentially pristine, except for the acceptable periphery wear on this fine large combination. This famous Weardale fluorite mine opened in the early 1970s and closed in 1999. Classic fluorescence under any bright light! Fairly valued at $1250-1500 for combination quality and size.
