Item Description

Striking amethyst and quartz from this classic Austrian locale. A 2.5 cm, gem, pretty light blush purple compound amethyst crystal is dramatically perched atop the sculptural mounded matrix of intergrown quartz crystals. A pair of gem, doubly terminated amethysts to 1.0 cm perched on the tip of a quartz crystal lower on the right center are a super accent to this very artistic quartz combination. Formerly in the Alex Franz (1906-2000) and Christian Rewitzer Collections. Ex Francesco Bedogne Colllection #1971. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. Classic Zillertal amethyst.
