Item Description

A VERY RARE and exotic 360-degree miniature pseudomorph from the famous Tae Wha Mine of South Korea. A classic, sharp, elongated tetragonal pyramidal scheelite crystal is partially pseudomorphed by massive creamy fluorite! The bruising along the crest reveals the remnant glassy, gray scheelite, which is substantiated by the ghostly white SW UV fluorescence. The fluorite was ID'd by electron probe. The Tae Wha Mine closed in 1973 and scheelites from here were long considered the world 's finest, until recently surpassed by the new Chinese finds. Ex Bob Trimmingham Collection. UNIQUE fluorite and scheelite from ANY locale.
