Item Description

RARE, dramatically sculptural parallel-growth clusters of intergrown terminated hubnerite blades. Hubnerite is RARE from the Casapalca Mine compared to the world class specimens from Pasto Bueno and the Mundo Nuevo Mine. This exceptional and aesthetic 360-degree specimen is beautifully accented with clusters of glassy quartz points. The striking central crystal tower, 6.5 cm tall, is dramatically accented by the angled 4.0 cm cluster of doubly terminated blades attached to it. Amazingly, complete all-around and pristine, with only a few trivial wilbers. Outstanding and rare Peru hubnerite from the Francesco Bedogne Collection # 506. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. See the locality and 1977 find reference on Page 36, Volume 1 of the 1978 Mineralogical Record issue. Value of such a superlative rarity? A MUST for the species or locality collector!
