Item Description

A fantastically sculptural, aesthetic, two-sided, two-way apophyllite and stilbite specimen from the famed closed Pashan quarries at Pune. A gorgeous spray of classic, gemmy, rich mint-green tetragonal apophyllite crystals with pyramidal terminations is dramatically bisected by a basalt "wall" covered with two striking generations of stilbite crystals. The 'A' side has beautiful, desirable pearlescent blades to 1.3 cm and scattered complimentary small apophyllites while the 'B' side is covered with tiny sparkly first generation stilbites. Interesting chemistry and fluid flow here. Ex Francesco Bedogne Colllection # 533. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. This surreal piece displays very artistically from two directions and two sides. Fairly valued at $1250-1500. Try to find another exceptional combination like it!
