Item Description

A colorful and rich 2.3 cm field, of striking tiny blue-green theisite botryoids is attractively clustered on one end of the blocky matrix. Scattered patches of tiny, scintillating, gemmy azurite crystals are a fine compliment on this excellent combination specimen from a New Find. Theisite is a rare complex hydroxyl Cu-Zn arsenate, visually similar to tyrolite. It is named after our fellow Mineralogical Association of Dallas (MAD) member, Nick Theis. Several sides feature turquoise-blue crusts of Claraite, a RARE very complex hydrated Cu-Zn-As carbonate. And most sides host more theisite and azurite. This rich, RARE and colorful specimen is from a New Find at this ancient and closed in the 1960s, barite, Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag mine. Valued at $300-500.
