Two striking columns of stacked nailhead calcite rhombs look like pagodas on this surreal specimen from this well-known mine. The rhombs are preferentially iron oxide tinted and are very aesthetically set on a fantastic calcite scalenohedron "armored" by plate hematite. I like the way the large rhombs are at the tops of the "pagodas". A most sculptural and aesthetic 360-degree example of this stunning multi-generational calcite varietal from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection. These came out in the 2000s, with none since.
