Item Description

Mineral specimens of ANY species are RARE from this Italian valley. Artistically intergrown botryoids of lustrous, translucent, mint-green prehnite blades form a very sculptural mounded plate on this outstanding and rare old-timer. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 7881 and acquired from Ron Bentley at the Tucson Show in 1976. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Undoubtedly old material, dating to prior to World War I, when the area was part of the Austrian Empire. RARE, old and excellent Italian prehnite.
