An impressive and sculptural calcite from the famous Malad Quarry at Mumbai (Bombay). Two large, glassy, lustrous, gemmy to translucent calcite crystals are dramatically set on the sparing basalt matrix. The 6.5 cm flat-lying crystal has a striking and pristine tapered termination. This crystal is partially doubly terminated and resembles a colorless classic Elmwood calcite! The pristine tapered blocky 4.5 cm upright rhomb is a stark and outstanding contrast. The scattered sheets of striated rust-red iron oxides adds much color and pizzazz. This is an exceptional and aesthetic 360-degree calcite from 1970s to 80s finds at Malad.
