Item Description

Rich pink color on this sharp, lustrous, translucent cobaltoan smithsonite rhomb from famed Tsumeb. Pink is a highly desirable varietal from Tsumeb and this is a very fine large thumbnail crystal. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 9119 and acquired from Dick Bideaux at the 1981 Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A classic and very fine larger cobaltoan smithsonite rhomb from Tsumeb.
