Robust, lustrous and translucent, bright rich orange-red crocoite prisms are aesthetically clustered on the sturdy gossan matrix. The crystals reach 2.3 and their terminations were contacted against the vug wall, which is certainly acceptable. This older specimen with thicker crystals is very different from the modern style of more fragile, elegant crystals from the currently working Red Lead Mine. Classic Adelaide Mine crocoite.
