Item Description

Glassy dogtooth calcite crystals cover this deceptive large mounded ball-like combination specimen from the famous Annabel Lee Mine. The bottom of the piece reveals, that the calcites are overgrown onto large translucent, color-zoned, purple and blue, cubic fluorite crystal sections. This is a very fine and rich large calcite specimen in its own right and adding the hidden fluorite beneath adds drama. The myriad of calcites in the interior are pristine. Ex Ted Bartels Collection and acquired from Ross Lillie of North Star Minerals. The piece was mined in October, 1988. An excellent, rich and sculptural large combination from here.
