Cassiterite & Muscovite on Albite (Ted Bartels Coll.)

Item Description

Lustrous, jet-black, twinned and etched cassiterite crystals, to 1.8 cm, are aesthetically clustered and scattered with a few muscovite plates on the starkly contrasting pearlescent albite crystal matrix from the pegmatites of the Linopolis area. One does not ususally think of cassiterite from pegmatites, but this area has produced some excellent example over the years, along with recent discoveries from Mt. Xuebaoding in China.
