Item Description

Mineral specimens are RARE from this old obscure extinct mine in the famous Siegerland District. This striking and outstanding old small cabinet plate is covered with RARE and classic "Neudorf style" bright metallic-gray galena cuboctahedrons with rounded edges. Neudorf is in the Harz in Saxony-Anhalt. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12055 and acquired from fellow MAD member, Lance Cook, at the 1990 Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A rare and outstanding old galena from this locale.
