Item Description

An adorable and superb combination specimen from a historic French locale - Allevard. A 1.6 cm, lustrous, rust-brown siderite rhomb is elegantly perched atop a parallel-growth cluster of glassy, water-clear to translucent quartz points. The large quartz is 3.5 cm and is doubly terminated. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 10646 and acquired from French dealer Alain Carion at the Tucson Show in 1985. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). An exquisite siderite and quartz miniature from this classic locale.
