Item Description

Epidote is VERY RARE from the famous Talefre glacier of the Mont Blanc Massif of France. This is a sculptural miniature cluster of parallel-growth cluster of sharp, highly lustrous, partially translucent, dark olive-green crystals. The bit of noted bruising has negligible impact to the importance of the rarity from this classic locale. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6046 and acquired from Scott Williams in the early 1970s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Rare Chamonix epidote!
